Karak Archaeological Museum is located within the west
wing of Karak Castle, in a vast vaulted hall used as
living quarters for soldiers in the Mamluk period. It
was opened in 1980, and hold remains dating from the
Neolithic, Moabite, Nabatean up to the late Islamic and
crusader periods gathered from the Karak and Tafileh
regions.
Some of the collections are remains of skeletons and
pottery from the Bab adh-Dhra graves, Iron Age II
artifacts from Buseirah, Byzantine glass vessels and
inscriptions, Roman and Nabatean artifacts from Rabbah
and Qasr as well as articles dating from 6000BC to the
14th century AD.
